Canvas Secures $9M in Funding

canvasCanvas, a Reston, VA-based provider of mobile apps for collecting and sharing business information, secured $9m in funding.

The round was led by River Cities Capital Funds and current investor Osage Venture Partners with participation from existing investor Camber Capital (formerly Berman Venture Capital).

The company intends to use the funds to continue to develop innovative capabilities and services for Canvas subscribers, and to expand marketing efforts across North America, Europe, Asia, as well as in other existing and target markets.

Led by James Quigley, CEO and co-founder, Canvas provides a cloud-based software service and mobile app platform that enables businesses of all sizes to collect information, share that information with colleagues, partners and customers and integrate the data with their businesses’ existing backend systems.

The company now has more than 40,000 paid subscribers and customers spanning 65 countries and using 10 different languages, including German, Turkish, and Mandarin Chinese.
