Prestiamoci.it, an Ivrea, Torino- and Milan, Italy-based Peer-to-Peer lending platform, has been acquired by Norway-based TrustBuddy International AB, for over €5.3m in cash and equity.
The operation included €1.5m in cash and €3.8m and market value will be defined in proximity of the closing. It is still subject to due diligence and authority approval. Digital Magics (AIM Italia: DM) and other investors in Prestiamoci, which include Federico Provinciali and other members of the Digital Magics Angel Network, will become shareholders in TrustBuddy.
Digital Magics, which owns approximately 22.4% of Agata S.p.A. (the owner of Prestiamoci), will have a 300% capital gain after one year from the first investment.
Founded in 2009 in Norway, TrustBuddy is a Stockholm-listed a P2P lending active in 9 European countries. It has over 300,000 users and seven offices in Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denamrk, Spain, Estonia and Poland. With the acquisition of Prestiamoci, it intens to eneter the Italian market as well.
Led by Michele Novelli, Managing Director (and Partner of Digital Magics), Prestiamoci operates a social lending platform that allows people and companies to borrow from private investors.
The platform is authorized by Banca d’Italia.
