Overdog, Inc., a Nashville, TN-based provider of an app for Xbox One Marketplace, closed a $1.8m financing round.
The round was co-led by Atlas Venture and Chicago Ventures with participation from Zynga Founder Mark Pincus, and Machinima Founder Allen Debevoise, United Talent Agency, Mountain Group Capital and several existing angels. In conjunction with the funding, Chicago Ventures’ Stuart Larkins joined Overdog’s Board of Directors.
Led by CEO Steve Berneman and CTO Brian Corrigan, Chief Product Officer Thomas Bernstein, and Director of User Acquisition Eric Doty, Overdog is to launch its first app into the Xbox One Marketplace. It matches gamers based on shared interests in sports, music, movies, gaming, celebs, and websites with the goal of finding better teammates and opponents for online gamers.
