Oppex Launches with $1.5M in Seed Funding

Oppex, a Helsinki, Finland-based startup company building a search engine for sales opportunities, has launched with $1.5M in seed funding.

Backers included media company Alma Media, startup accelerator Veturi, Tekes, and seven angel investors.

Led by Ville Heinonen, Co-Founder and CEO, Oppex provides a search engine for sales opportunities in the public sector. The service aggregates thousands of new tenders each day and translates them into English, helping companies to find new business from both local and international government contracts.
Publicly launched in 2014, the Oppex database includes more than 3.5 million public sector tenders, and more than a million new tenders are added every year.
Early beta testers included SMEs, large corporations. Clients currently include Samsung, Abbott, and Roche – with more than 4000 users from 120 countries.
