Farmers Edge, a Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada-based provider of precision agriculture and independent data management solutions, received an investment from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers‘ Green Growth Fund.
The amount of the funding was not disclosed.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its technology platform and support continued growth in international markets.
Led by Wade Barnes, President and CEO, Farmers Edge provides global agribusinesses with tools and services to identify, map and manage farmland variability. Following a recent acquisition, the company introduced FarmCommand, a comprehensive solution that provides farmers plug and play real time equipment diagnostics and logistics telematics to any brand of equipment. FarmCommand will become part of the Precision Solutions product line that incorporates field-centric data such as drone and satellite imagery, soil testing, weather stations and precision agronomy.
