Zoomdata, a Reston, VA-based developer of a big data analytics platform, closed a $17m Series B funding round.
The round was led by Accel Partners with participation from New Enterprise Associates, Columbus Nova Technology Partners, Razor’s Edge Ventures and B7.
The company intends to use the funds to expand sales and marketing teams and product development efforts.
Led by Justin Langseth, founder and CEO, Zoomdata develops an exploration, visualization and analytics platform that allows business users to see and interact with data designed mobile and touch first. It also gives developers access to a JavaScript SDK in which they can build a private-labeled experience that leverages big data.
The company launched its product in February of 2013 and already has more than 20 enterprise customers.
