Wirkn, Inc., a Toronto, Canada-based mobile employment solution, raised $400k in funding.
The round was led by Kinetic Companies Inc. with participation from a group of private angel investors.
The company intends to use the funds to launch its solution.
Led by founder by Francois Jobin (a 25-year Retail/HR veteran & former VP of HR and eCommerce with The ALDO Group), CEO Derek Szeto, and newly appointed General Manager Anthony Chan, Wirkn provides an end-to-end mobile employment solution for youth to find jobs and employers to connect with the mobile generation. The app allows candidates to locate job opportunities and apply via dynamic videos to showcase their personal brand to prospective employers. Store managers have access to a pool of qualified candidates on demand to fill new roles and address seasonal demand.
The company, which also has offices in Montreal, expects to close the next round of funding within the next 60 days.
