SwiftStack Raises $16M in Series B Funding

SwiftStackSwiftStack, a San Francisco, CA-based software defined storage company, raised $16m in Series B funding.

Backers included OpenView Venture Partners, Mayfield Fund, Storm Ventures and UMC Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Daniel Demmer, Operating Partner at OpenView, will join SwiftStack’s board.

The company intends to use the funds to expand go-to-market and customer engagement efforts.

Launched in 2011 by Joe Arnold, CEO, SwiftStack provides operators with a software-defined storage for the cloud. Its SwiftStack Controller manages multiple object storage clusters featuring configuration, authentication, cluster management and capacity management capabilities.

Customers include eBay, HP, Time Warner Cable and Pac-12 Networks.
