Navdy Closes $6.5M Seed Funding

navdyNavdy, a San Francisco, CA-based developer of Head-Up Display (HUD) for cars, closed a $6.5m seed funding.

The round was led by Upfront Ventures with participation from Ludlow Ventures, Lightbank, Promus Ventures, MESA+ I, Eniac Ventures, Wareness.io, Shervin Pishevar, Brad Feld, Eric Ries, Naval Ravikant, Semil Shah, Don Norman, and Dan Shapiro.

The company will use this funding to hire additional software and hardware people and scale up its manufacturing plans.

Co-founded by CEO Doug Simpson and serial inventor Karl Guttag, Navdy aims to improve driving safety by keeping drivers’ eyes on the road and using GPS to identify appropriate times to display selected information.
