Metail Closes $12M Funding Round

Metail_Logo1Metail, a London, UK-based virtual fitting room company, closed a $12m funding round.

The round was led by TAL GROUP with participation from existing investor John Gleasure, Commercial Director of Perform Group Plc. who also joined the board.

The company, which has raised $20m to date, intends to use the funds to develop its mobile offering, scheduled for release early next year, to add new people to its existing team of 40 (read here), to advance its user ecosystem, and to expand its overseas presence, building on its existing operations in Singapore and partnerships across South America, Asia and Europe.

Founded in 2008 by CEO Tom Adeyoola, Metail uses online fitting room technology to allow the user to create a three dimensional model of themselves and virtually try on a range of fashion garments. Clients include Warehouse and House of Holland in the UK and SingTel in Singapore.

The company also has offices in Cambridge and Singapore.
