Map-D, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of a data analytics visualization platform, raised $1.5m in seed funding.
Backers included Google Ventures, Nvidia, and other undisclosed angel investors.
The company intends to use the funds for product development and for the release the platform expected later in 2014.
Founded in 2013 by Todd Mostak, Map-D has built GPU in-memory databases that power a big data analysis and visualization platform, which can query, analyze and visualize billions of data points in milliseconds and facilitate complex machine learning, GIS and 3D animation.
