Joyent Raises $15M in Funding

Joyent-logoJoyent, Inc., a San Francisco, CA-based container infrastructure company, raised $15m in funding.

Existing investors Intel Capital, Orascom TMT Investments, El Dorado Ventures, EPIC Ventures, LGI Ventures and others.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate the adoption of application containers in the enterprise.

Led by Scott Hammond, CEO, and Bryan Cantrill, CTO, Joyent is a container infrastructure company for public and private clouds. It provides a production-grade stack, SmartDataCenter, to run Docker containers, which allow developers and system administrators to build data-intensive, real-time applications that can be deployed virtually anywhere.
