HangIt, a New York City-based mobile location platform, raised $6.2m in seed funding.
Atlanta-based Vesta Labs made the investment.
Co-founded in 2014 by Jason Hogg, chairman, and Nicholas Johns, chief architect, Steven Gal, Chief Executive Officer, HangIt plans to launch its cloud-based open service later this year for free to app developers and publishers to enable advanced location based messaging and marketing in any app.
The company is currently testing the prototype in major metropolitan areas.
