Charlie Raises $1.75M in Seed Funding

charlieCharlie, a Chicago, IL-based meeting preparation app, raised $1.75m in seed funding.

The round was led by Lightbank with participation from Hyde Park Venture Partners, Confluence Capital Partners, Hoovers CEO Patrick Spain, and Lon Chow and Armando Pauker of Apex Venture Partners.

The company intends to use the funds to further improve its algorithm, integrate more data sources and scale operations.

Led by Aaron Frazin, CEO, Charlie has launched its meeting-preparation tool that delivers a one-pager about the people the user meets with, an hour before any meeting. It works simply by connecting to Google Calendar sending, an hour before any meeting, a digest drawn from over 100,000 sources like Google News, LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook to find out what the person really likes to talk about, what matters to them and the latest on whatever they’re working on.
Its algorithms also finds what the user needs to know about their company. They can also manually request reports based on a person’s email and name.
