Capshare Closes $1M in Funding

capshare-logoCapshare, a Salt Lake City, UT-based provider of an equity management platform for valuation service providers and for organizations, closed $1m in funding.

The round was led by Tim Draper Associates, with participation from Kickstart Seed Fund, serial entrepreneur Jeremy Andrus (former SkullCandy CEO), and Capshare founder Jeron Paul.

The company intends to use the funds to continue accelerating during 2015 and beyond.

Launched in 2012, Capshare provides a cloud-based equity management platform that provides organizations and valuation service providers with resources such as:
Centralized cap table management on the web
Options administration and expensing (FAS 123r / ASC 815)
Options document automation and electronic signature
Equity and convertible debt certificate tracking
Waterfall analysis for equity payouts
Portfolio analysis tools for investors
Option expensing compliance reports
Portfolio valuation compliance for investors
In addition to investment analysis, it allows human resource, accounting and legal executives to administer options, create expensing reports, and to ensure full 409a regulatory compliance.
The solution is free for small businesses up to 25 optionees and provides $29.95 per month and $100 per month alternatives for organizations of 26 optionees and beyond.

The company has also launched a pilot project with Silicon Valley business accelerator 500 Startups, in which it is providing equity management software to all 500 of the organization’s portfolio firms.
