ClassPass Closes $12M Series A Funding

classpassClassPass Inc., a NYC-based platform to discover and book fitness classes online, closed a $12m Series A round of funding.

The round was led by angel investors Fritz Lanman and Hank Vigil with participation from existing investors David Tisch, Kal Vepuri, and Shana Fisher.

The company intends to use the funds to expand into additional markets and to launch new product features, including a mobile app.

Launched in June 2013 by CEO Payal Kadakia, ClassPass is a membership program that allows users to book as many fitness classes (from cycling, fitness boot camps, yoga, martial arts, Zumba, and dance) as they’d like for $99 a month.
The company partners with fitness studios including national brands like Flywheel, Exhale, Pure Barre, Orange Theory, and Core Power Yoga.
It is hiring.
