Black Duck Software Closes $20M Funding

Black_Duck_LogoBlack Duck Software, a Burlington, MA-based OSS Logistics solutions provider enabling the deployment and management of open source software (OSS), closed a $20m funding.

The round was led by General Catalyst Venture Partners with participation from all existing investors.

The company intends to use the funds to expand globally.

Led by President and CEO Lou Shipley and newly appointed Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President Stephen Gregorio, Black Duck Software provides an end-to-end OSS Logistics solution, which enables enterprises of every size to optimize open source adoption and management. It also connects developers to comprehensive OSS resources through The Black Duck Open Hub, and to the latest commentary from industry experts through the Open Source Delivers blog.
Black Duck also hosts the Open Source Think Tank, an international event where leaders collaborate on the future of open source.
The company also has offices in San Mateo, London, Paris, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, and Beijing.
