Bitx Raises $824k in Seed Funding

bitxBitx, a Singapore-based global bitcoin exchange, recently raised a seed funding round.

According to CoinDesk, the deal amounted to $824k (read here).

Backers included Ariadne Capital, Barry Silbert, founder of Second Market, who made the investment via its Bitcoin Opportunity Corp (BOC), and Carol Realini.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations worldwide, starting with emerging markets.

Led by Marcus Swanepoel, BitX is building a crypto-currency distribution platform, featuring wallets for people to store their Bitcoin, exchanges to buy and sell Bitcoin, and merchant integration to allow businesses to accept the cryptocurrency.
