Tutum Closes $2.65M Seed Funding Round

tutumTutum, a NYC-based developer of a cloud platform for docker, closed a $2.65m seed funding round.

The round was led by RTP Ventures with participation from Azure Capital Partners and some angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds to grow the development team.

Tutum allows people to manage and run portable, self-sufficient containers from any application. The same container that a developer builds and tests on a laptop can run at scale in Tutum. The solution offers users the capabilities and features of IaaS and PaaS, without the shortcomings or disadvantages of either one.
It supports the open-source containerization project Docker.

The company, which participated in the Techstars NYC ’14 class, currently has a dedicated team of 7.
