Startupbootcamp Launches Barcelona-Based Accelerator

Accelerator program Startupbootcamp is launching a Barcelona-based program in January 2015 dedicated to Internet of Things and big data startups from around the world.

It targets both consumer and business-focused startups that are taking advantage of the massive recent increase in connected devices, as well as the platforms that are enabling those services. In the area of data, Startupbootcamp is interested in solutions that create smarter, customised services, both for consumers and business and the platforms that enable the creation and running of those services.

The three month program, which opens for applications today, begins on January 7, 2015.
Teams selected will each receive a €15k investment, as well as co-working space, mentorship from IoT and data mentors, investors and partners, access to over 100 technology giants including Intel, Yahoo, Cisco, Telefonica and Facebook, as well as a chance to pitch on stage at 4YFN, a featured event during the Mobile World Congress 2015.

The program is backed by Barcelona entrepreneurs Angel Garcia, who assumes the role of managing director, and Marcos Cuevas, who will act as program manager. Also supporting Garcia and Cuevas is program co-founder Aldo de Jong,  who is also co-founder of the innovation consultancy Claro Partners.
