HearHere Radio Inc., the Chicago, IL-based company behind Rivet News Radio, raised $1.7m in Convertible Promissory Notes.
The investors include The Associated Press, A.H. Belo Management Services, Whittier Ventures, Ringleader Ventures, individual backers including Chicago venture capitalist Steve Miller, employees, family and friends.
Led by CEO John MacLeod, HearHere Radio provides Rivet Radio, which offers a personalized listening experience to smartphone users. The company’s in-house, veteran news team develops news content and creates original programming. In addition, audio content includes stories from trusted media outlets such as the Associated Press, Chicago Public Media, and Crain’s Chicago Business.
