FreshGrade Secures $4.3M in Seed Funding

FreshGrade_Logo_LargeFreshGrade, a Kelowna, BC, Canada-based edtech startup, secured $4.3m in seed funding.

Backers included NewSchools Venture Fund, Emerson Collective, Accel Partners and The Social+Capital Partnership.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to grow operations.

Founded in 2011 by Lane Merrifield, Steve Wandler and Mark Payne, FreshGrade provides an education platform for administrators, teachers, and parents allowing for classroom engagement and real-time assessment.
The company is also building educational content and resources for teachers to streamline lesson planning and assessment and allow for more time spent working with students and communicating with parents.
