Fancred, a Boston, MA-based provider of an app that lets users capture their favorite sports moments and connect and interact with a community of fellow fans, raised $3m in financing.
The round was led by existing shareholders Atlas Ventures and Militello Capital, with participation from new backer Breakaway Innovation Group.
The company intends to use the funds for support continued product development and user improvements, team growth and strategic partnerships.
Led by CEO Hossein Kash Razzaghi, Fancred is a sports community that offers users a digital scrapbook to capture favorite sports moments and connect with other fans and teams. It is currently available on iOS and Fancred.com coming soon to Android.
The Boston Red Sox, Mississippi State University and Liverpool Football Club have already created official team profiles on the platform.
