DripDrop, a San Francisco, CA-based medical-grade oral rehydration solution, closed a $5.6m financing.
Backers included funds affiliated with owners of the San Francisco 49ers (Aurum Partners LLC), Seth Taube of Medley LLC, and American rock musicians Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, and Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead.
The company intends to use the funds for the continued national rollout to retail pharmacies and hospitals.
Feveloped by Dr. Eduardo Dolhun, a Mayo Clinic trained family physician, and led by Doug Wolf, CEO, DripDrop provides an Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) that combines medical standards of rehydration therapy and taste. Its formula has been adopted early on by a group of users including Stanford University Medical Center, The Mayo Clinic, UCSF Medical Center, leading national pharmacies, US Special Forces, Olympians and top-flight athletes.
