Datanyze Secures $2M in Seed Funding

datanyzeDatanyze, a San Mateo, CA-based sales prospecting solution powered by technology data, secured $2m in seed funding.

The round was led by IDG Ventures, with participation from Google Ventures, Mark Cuban, AngelList, Gil Penchina, Neeraj Agrawal, Jeff Epstein and Kyle York.

The company intends to use the funds to continue growing the team and expand the capabilities of the product.

Led by Founder and CEO Ilya Semin, Datanyze enables salespeople to uncover who is using a competitor’s software and determine when they started or stopped using it. If a competitor requires annual contracts, Datanyze can pinpoint the day a client deployed the technology and send notifications a few months before the contract is up for renewal.
Every day, the software crawls millions of websites, looking for various bits of code, fragments of javascript, embeds, CSS, etc. that indicate whether or not a technology is present on a given website. Once compiled, this information is served in different ways.
The solution has received positive reviews from early adopters including KISSmetrics, Fastly and Dyn.
