Algolux Secures $2.6M in Series A Financing

Algolux,  a Montreal, Canada-based company that specializes in computational optics, secured $2.6m in Series A financing.

The round was led by Real Ventures with participation from unnamed angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds to commercialize its software while continuing to build out its IP portfolio.

Led by Allan Benchetrit, President & CEO, Algolux provides technology that enables cameras to capture crystal clear images with existing lenses. Furthermore, it allows camera manufacturers to produce thinner and lighter camera modules, at lower manufacturing costs. While the technology can be implemented in all camera types, including video surveillance, in-vehicle cameras, medical imaging and the burgeoning wearables market, the company is also focusing its efforts on smartphones and tablets.
Algolux currently has 15 employees.
