WordStream Secures $12M in Funding

wordstreamWordStream Inc., a Boston, MA-based provider of search engine marketing software, secured $12m in funding.

The funding includes $9m Series C venture capital round, led by new investor Baird Capital, with participation from current investor Sigma Partners as well as an additional $3m in venture debt provided by City National Bank.
In conjunction with the funding, Benedict Rocchio, a Partner in Baird Capital’s Venture Capital group, and Paul Flanagan, a Managing Director at Sigma Partners, joined WordStream’s Board of Directors.

The company intends to use the funds to further invest in its search marketing software.

Led by Ralph J. Folz, CEO, WordStream WordStream provides software and services for marketers to execute their search marketing campaigns.
Its PPC Advisor software allows provides the 20-Minute PPC Work Week, a customized workflow that guides marketers through steps that can improve their AdWords campaigns, including tools for landing page creation, ad optimization, keyword research, cost management, PPC reporting, call tracking, etc. Its services team uses PPC Advisor to deliver quality traffic, clicks and conversions for businesses looking to improve their pay-per-click marketing efforts with minimal time investment.

The company currently serves thousands of customers across a wide range of industries and employs over 100 staff in Boston.
