Tablo, a Richmond, Australia, cloud-based e-book platform and writing community, raised $400k in seed funding.
The round was led by Paul Reining, former CEO of Catch Group, who joined Tablo as a Director and Advisor, with participation from Kevin Hale, Partner at Y Combinator, and John Buck, a Tablo’s author who reinvested his book’s earnings into the business.
The company intends to use the funds to further grow the team and develop new features.
Founded by Ash Davies in 2012, Tablo is a self-publishing community where authors and readers can connect in the cloud. It currently hosts 10,000 authors from 100 different countries. The company plans to build social community features on the platform, allowing authors to connect with each other and share their writing with fans.
