Bluegrass Vascular Technologies, a San Antonio, Texas-based medical technology company focused on lifesaving devices and methods for vascular access, closed $4.5m in Series A financing.
The round was led by Targeted Technology Fund II, a venture capital firm focused on early stage healthcare companies.
The company intends to use the funds to obtain CE Mark for the Surfacer™ Inside-Out Access Catheter System, enhance manufacturing capabilities, and proceed with US regulatory submissions.
Founded in 2011 and led by Jim Clifton, CEO, Bluegrass is advancing the Surfacer System, a proprietary system that allows physicians to gain venous access using a novel “inside-out” approach.
