Siva Power, a San Jose, CA-based provider of advanced solar energy solutions, received a $15m investment.
Backers included Trident Capital, DBL Investors and Acero Capital and the city of Wuxi.
Led by CEO Brad Mattson, Siva Power is a developer of thin-film photovoltaic solar panels, using copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS).
The company, which also hired solar industry veteran Leroy Luo as president of Siva Power China to lead operations in that market, intends to use the funds to scale the manufacturing of its thin film solar technology and build a small mini-module pilot line.
