OMsignal Raises $10M in Series A Funding

omsignalOMsignal, a Montreal, Canada-based smart clothing technology and maker of the collection of Biometric Smartwear, raised $10m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP) with participation from existing investors Real Ventures, Mistral Venture Partners, Golden Venture Partners, David Cohen (managing partner, Techstars), Flextronics and Primera Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Rob Stavis, partner of BVP, and Ori Sasson, partner of Primera Capital, joined the company’s board of directors.

OMsignal will use the funds to continue to scale operations.

Founded in 2011 by Frédéric Chanay and Stéphane Marceau, CEO, the company designs Biometric Smartwear that tells users what’s up with their. The flagship product is a collection of biometric smartwear shirts that track fitness performance as well as health and wellness via sensors embedded into the fabric connected to a small electronic module on the shirt and send activity, physiological stress and fitness levels to a mobile app in real-time.
