HashPlex Closes $400K Seed Funding Round

According to a post on the company blog, HashPlex, a Seattle, WA-based provider of a full-service hosting for cryptocurrency mining, closed a $400k seed funding round.

The round was led by Barry Silbert of Bitcoin Opportunity Corp and SecondMarket, and Jason Prado, co-founder of Plannr, ex-Googler, now senior engineer at Facebook.

The company intends to use the funds to build their hardware backend, software stack, and 1MW HashCenter in Central Washington.

Led by Bernie Rihn, CEO, HashPlex is developing a hosting solution for cryptocurrency mining. They provide host computers, internet, start/stop/control scripting, and basic maintenance to make sure bitcoin miners are always mining.
The company currently has 8 people.
