Deliveroo Closes £2.75M Series A Funding

deliverooDeliveroo, a London, UK-based food delivery platform, closed £2.75m Series A funding.

The round was led by Index Ventures with participation from Hoxton Ventures, JamJar Investments, Greg Marsh, the founder of onefinestay, and Arnaud Bertrand, the founder of HouseTrip. In conjunction with the funding, Index Martin Mignot, joined Deliveroo’s board.

The company intends to use the funds to further strengthen its logistics technologies and delivery platform.

Founded in February 2013 by William Shu and Greg Orlowski, Deliveroo delivers restaurant meals to consumers. It works with a combination of independent and chain restaurants including Brindisa, Busaba Eathai, Carluccio’s, Cay Tre, Goodlife Diner, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Princi, Rossopomodoro and Tommi’s Burgers helping them generate additional revenue from existing menus without needing to handle the complexities of logistics.
Customers receive food, on average, in less than half an hour from submitting their order.
