Science Acquires Delicious from AVOS Systems

Delicious, a provider of a social bookmarking app, has been acquired by Santa Monica, CA-based Science from AVOS Systems.

The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.

Science, the technology studio that creates, acquires and scales digital businesses, now plans to bring Delicious to its next phase of growth.

Founded in 2003, Delicious is a free service that allows users to save, organize, and remember the links they find interesting or useful around the web. Acquired from Yahoo! and then rebuilt by AVOS Systems (with a new focus on curation and discovery) it today manages submissions of more than 13 million links from over two million active users per month. Over a billion links are served daily from more than 200 countries worldwide.

Science has co-founded and invested in more than 35 companies, including DollarShaveClub, DogVacay, HelloSociety, Ellie, Uncovet, among others.
