RosterBot Raises $1M in Seed Financing

rosterbot_blackRosterBot Inc., a Vancouver, Canada-based provider of a team management service, raised $1m in seed financing.

The round was led by Sora Capital with participation from a number of angel investors including David Tedman, co-founder of Hootsuite; and RosterBot co-founder Bret Hedican. Sora President and CEO Paul Reinhart and Microsoft veteran Greg Hope will be joining the RosterBot board of directors immediately.

The company, which has also been accepted into the acceleration program at Invoke Labs, intends to use the funds to expand its development and marketing teams and continue to roll out innovative applications for the web and mobile.

Launched as an experiment in 2008 and created in 2012 by Ian Andrew Bell, RosterBot provides a team management service, supporting teams in more than 60 countries and more than 350 different types of sports and activities worldwide. It allows users to create teams, add players, set positions, create events, and sync calendars.
The company also has an office in Silicon Valley.
