Pantheon Raises $21.5M in Series B Financing

pantheonPantheon, a San Francisco, CA-based website platform for professional developers, designers, and marketers, raised $21.5m in Series B financing.

The round was led by Scale Venture Partners with participation from OpenView Partners and existing investors Foundry Group and First Round Capital. As part of the funding round, Rory O’Driscoll, Partner at ScaleVP will join the board of directors.

The company, which has raised $28.8m to date, intends to use the funds for product development and international ezpansion.

Founded in 2010 by Zack Rosen, CEO, Pantheon provides a professional cloud website platform that supports the two leading open-source content management systems (CMS) for business websites–WordPress and Drupal.
It allows them to solve the problems inherent in traditional hosting, including website outages, inability to handle large traffic spikes, security, team management, version control, and deployment.
Over 65,000 websites and some organizations such as Intel, Cisco, A&E Networks, The New Republic, Arizona State University and the United Nations. currently use Pantheon.
