Olset Raises $1.1M in Seed Funding

olsetOlset, a San Francisco, CA-based big data travel startup, raised $1.1m in seed funding.

Backers included Montage Ventures, Digital Garage and 500 Startups.

The company is using the funds to launch new features, partnerships and a new website.

Led by CEO and Co-Founder Gadi Bashvitz, Olset provides a platform to personalize and automate hotel bookings. Its technology and algorithms match travelers’ preferences with hotels based on 40 million traveler sentiments. The recommendations include a match breakdown for each hotel and why it was chosen. When working with travel providers and productivity app providers, OLSET can automatically create a profile for each traveler by scouring a traveler’s past travel bookings and social media profiles. Omnibooking leverages natural language processing to allow travelers to book hotels via any medium they want, initially using calendar invites and email with more channels including Twitter, Chat & Text to be added in the near future.
