NoWait Raises $10M

nowaitNoWait, a Pittsburgh and New York City-based mobile network for casual-dining restaurants, raised $10m in funding.

The round was led by Drive Capital, with participation from existing investors. In conjunction with the funding, Chris Olsen, co-founder of Drive Capital, will join NoWait’s board.

The company will use the funds to expand its network of restaurants and consumers, ramp up engineering to support its technology roadmap, and continue developing more products and services to enhance the guest experience and restaurant operations.

Led by CEO Ware Sykes, NoWait provides an iPad-based system for guests to view a list of nearby restaurants and real-time wait times, enabling them to join wait lists remotely from their mobile phones. It currently partners with nearly 1,000 restaurants including major national chains such as First Watch, On The Border and Chili’s, as well as Batali & Bastianich Hospitality Group’s Eataly, Jose Garces’ Village Whiskey, Marc Vetri’s Pizzeria Vetri and Hubert Keller’s Burger Bar.
Launching nationally this year, the company’s app is now available (for Android, as well as iOS) in all 50 states and in every major metropolitan area throughout the country.
