Fyusion Raises $3.35M in Funding

Fyusion, a San Francisco, CA-based stealth startup developing advanced 3D Image Processing technologies, raised $3.35m in funding.

The round was led by UTEC and New Enterprise Associates (NEA), with participation from angel investors including James Joaquin (Venture Investor and former CEO of Ofoto & Xoom) and Lior Susan (head of Lab IX), as well as early Google investors.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to add features and capabilities to its app Fyuse.

Founded in 2013 by Dr. Radu B. Rusu (CEO), Stefan J.J. Holzer (CTO), and Stephen D. Miller (VP Engineering), Fyusion develops technologies that allows people to capture the world in an immersive way via patent-pending visual graph structures, coined “Spatial Photographs”, which capture the space through which a camera moves. Using 3D processing algorithms, Spatial Photos allows viewers to freely interact with the scene while reliving the experience of the original composer.
Fyuse, the company recently launched mobile photo app currently available the iOS App Store, allows users to create and share immersive Spatial Photographs, for personal use or on social networks.
The company is also licensing its patent-pending technologies and its 3D modeling platform to players in the mobile and wearable devices sectors.
