Darby Smart, a San Francisco, CA-based for designers across the Web to create and launch do-it-yourself projects, raised $6.3m Series A funding round.
The round was led by Maveron, with participation from Forerunner Ventures, CAA Ventures and other existing investors.
The company intends to use the funds to create additional tools for designers to grow their businesses and hire new people.
Launched in June 2013 by Nicole Shariat Farb and Karl Mendes, Darby Smart turns designer’s ideas into purchasable DIY projects and helps them create their own businesses. Craft enthusiasts have the opportunity to create craft projects, while simultaneously supporting other designers.
