CrowdSystems Raises $1M in Series A Funding

crowdsystemsCrowdSystems, a Moscow, Russia-based developer of retail analytics based on crowdsourcing techniques, raised $1m in Series A funding.

The round was led by InVenture Partners.

The company, which had previously raised seed financing from the Moscow Seed Fund, intends to use the funds to further develop its platform as well as to broaden the range of tools for data mining.

Led by Dmitry Bezyzvestnyh, co-founder and CEO, CrowdSystems provides retail companies and brands with retail audit and consumer research tools, which use crowdsourcing methods to collect the data. Smartphone users can join its TopMission platform, start to perform simple tasks and get paid by retail companies. Tasks could vary from inspecting merchandising activities to evaluating the ad campaigns or assessing the quality of store personnel.TopMission allows clients to control the investment in sales promotion and to adjust activities according to changing conditions.
Developed in 2013, the company currently works with Colgate-Palmolive, Svyaznoy, RedBull and other FMCG brands.

The app has been downloaded by 100 000 users, who has carried out over 90 000 tasks.
