Boomlagoon Secures $3.6M in Series A Funding

Boomlagoon_LogoBoomlagoon, a Helsinki, Finland-based mobile games company, secured $3.6m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Northzone, with participation from Inventure and 360 Capital Partners, and existing investors Jari Ovaskainen and London Venture Partners.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its team (read here), and develop a portfolio of character-driven titles – the first of which, will be announced in May.

Formed in 2012 by three former Rovio team members and led by Antti Stén, CEO, Boomlagoon focuses on making character-driven, Free-to-Play games. Its mobile game debut was Noble Nutlings. The company currently employs eight people.
