Utrip Raises $750K in Seed Funding

utripUtrip, a Seattle, WA-based provider of a travel planning platform, raised $750k in seed funding.

Backers included CB Alliance and Felix Anthony. In addition to the funding, Matthew D. Upchurch (Virtuoso Chairman and CEO) and Matt Klein (formerly of Yahoo! Travel), joined Utrip’s Advisory board, which already included Oren Etzioni, artificial intelligence expert, and David Conrad, studio director and founder of Design Commission.

The company intends to use the funds for expansion and hiring personnel.

Led by Gilad Berenstein, founder and chief executive officer, Utrip provides a free travel planning platform that uses artificial intelligence to create personalized itineraries.
Just launched out of beta, Utrip allows travelers to indicate their interests and budget, and then sorts through millions of must-see sites, activities, events and restaurants recommendations to deliver personalized itineraries–in minutes.
Users can also purchase their lodging and share their itineraries with friends.
