TeleSign Raises $40M in Series B Funding

telesignTeleSign, a Los Angeles, CA-based provider of authentication services of mobile phones, raised $40m in Series B funding.

The round was led by Adams Street Partners with participation from March Capital Partners and existing investor Summit Partners.

The company, which had raised $29m in May 2012, intends to use the funds to expand globally and hire new people for its product development and engineering teams.

Led by CEO Steve Jillings, TeleSign has pioneered “Mobile Identity”, a platform that verifies users by associating a valid mobile phone number with every user account.
The company provides services to more than 500 clients including nine of the top 10 US web properties and 19 of the top 25 globally protecting 3.5 billion accounts in more than 200 countries and in 87 languages.
