According to the blog, Munchery, a San Francisco-based chef prepared meal delivery service, raised $28m in Series B funding.
The round was led by SherpaVentures. In conjunction with the funding, Shervin Pishevar, founder of SherpaVentures, has been named to Munchery’s board of directors.
The company intends to use the funds to expand to Seattle.
Led by Tri Tran, CEO, and Conrad Chu, CTO, Munchery provides customers with chef-made meals with fresh and natural ingredients and delivered in eco-friendly packages.
Users can select a delivery time when they check out and meals are delivered chilled, with simple instructions to heat them in minutes using a microwave or oven.
