Airbnb Raises $450M; Valued $10BN

airbnbAirBnb, the San Francisco, CA-based rental website, reportedly raised $450m in funding.

The round was led by TPG, with participation from Dragoneer Investment Group, T. Rowe Price Group and Sequoia Capital.

It valued the company at US$10 billion, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Co-founded in August of 2008 by Brian Chesky, CEO, Nathan Blecharczyk, CTO, and Joe Gebbia, CPO, Airbnb is a community marketplace for people to list, discover, and book apartment, castle, and villa accommodations around the world — online or from a mobile phone, in more than 34,000 cities and 192 countries.
The company also has offices in Dublin (where it has just announced the creation of an additional 100 new roles), London, Milan, Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen, Moscow and Paris.
