Tel Aviv-based Wix.com (Nasdaq:WIX), a provider of free software for building websites, acquired Appixia, an Israeli platform for building native mCommerce apps.
The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.
The acquisition aims to support Wix’ plans to continue to strengthen its product offering.
Led by Avishai Avrahami, CEO, Co-Founder and Chairman, Wix provides a cloud-based platform for website creation, eCommerce capabilities, business management tools, third party app integration, mobile solutions, etc. Now, Appixia’s technology adds another layer to the Wix product suite complementing its offering.
Founded by Yigael Berger and Tal Kol, Appixia provides small businesses and individuals around the world with building technology to create HTML5 and native (iOS and Android) mobile solutions.
