Trusper Raises $6.17M in Series A Funding

Trusper, a Los Altos, CA-based marketplace where “trusted helpers” can share their favorite lifestyle tips, raised $6.17m in Series A funding.

The round was led by DCM, with participation from Charles Schwab, Bob Gunderson, Mark Thompson, and other investors.

Led by Jack Jia, founder/CEO, Trusper is a website and free mobile app for iOS and Android devices that allows people to share and discover tips of daily life (on cosmetics, beauty, DIY and other areas of interest) with trusted friends, family, and fans.
Organized around a variety of categories, the service allows users to create tips, embed photos and video, search for specific topics and tips, and help others with comments. The initial focus is beauty and fitness, with plans to expand into relationships, home & garden and a number of other topic categories.
Unveiled in beta eight months ago, it is currently used by over five million people.
