FunPlus Raises $74M in Venture Capital Financing
FunPlus, a Beijing, China-based mobile social games company, raised an additional $74m in venture capital financing.
The company intends to use the funds for growth, including multiple game launches (at least two to three additional games in 2014) and recruitment in its global offices.
Founded in 2010 by CEO Andy Zhong and Yitao Guan, FunPlus has launched titles including Family Farm and Royal Story on Facebook, and Family Farm Seaside on iOS, Google and Amazon. All games are free-to-play, and users have the ability to purchase virtual currency and goods.
The company, which had previously closed a $13m Series A round in 2012, has over 200 employees in Beijing, San Francisco, CA, and Vancouver, Canada.
