Business Insider Raises $12M in Capital

business insiderAccording to multiple reports (confirmed by the company), NYC-based media company Business Insider raised $12m in capital.

The round values the company at about $100m.

Backers included Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, Institutional Venture Partners, RRE Ventures and Gordon Crovitz.

The company intends to use the funds to hire people and launch in the UK.

Launched in February 2009 by Henry Blodget, CEO, & Editor in Chief, Business Insider is a news website that covers tech, media, law, Wall Street, investing and entrepreneurship.
